Na het behalen van zijn apothekersdiploma heeft Frank sinds 2004 met een aantal collega's de farmaceutische zorg in Leidsche Rijn vorm gegeven. In 2014 maakte hij de overstap naar Alliance Healthcare; eerst om de transitie van Kring naar Alphega apotheek voor de zelfstandige apotheek te begeleiden. Parallel daaraan startte hij i.s.m. Nyenrode Business University het Alliance Healthcare Management Development Programma. In de functie van business manager bezocht hij veel apotheken om advies te geven over kwaliteit van zorg, team & proces optimalisatie en financiën. Aansluitend trad hij toe tot het executive team van Alliance Healthcare met eindverantwoordelijkheid voor Boots Nederland en Corporate Social Responsibility. Verschillende bestuursfuncties, waaronder LOA-KNMP, ASKA en NMVO zijn bekleed. Bij SmartMed gaat Frank een bijdrage leveren aan de strategie, organisatie ontwikkeling en executie van dienstverlening aan onze klanten. De groeiambities van SmartMed en de expertise, netwerk en ervaring in de farmacie van Frank vormen een mooie combinatie. Frank Verheijen: *“Ik ben onder de indruk van de state-of-the-art IT solutions die ontwikkeld worden; o.a. de  Microsoft Azure cloud omgeving, de microservices etc. De toegevoegde waarde van de apotheker op het gebied van medicatiemanagement en medicatieveiligheid wordt hierdoor aantoonbaar en zichtbaar.
